📜 Opening the Historical Records of "Jao Khun Tao" of Wat Hang (Brief Overview)

Luang Pu Eiam, whom disciples and followers respectfully called "Jao Khun Tao", was a native of Bang Khun Thian. He was born on Friday, October 12, B.E. 2375 (corresponding to Friday, the 3rd waning day of the 10th lunar month, Year of the Horse), during the reign of King Rama III.

Path in Monastic Life

  • B.E. 2394 (Age 19): He was ordained as a novice at Wat Hang Ratchaworawiharn

  • B.E. 2397 (Age 22): He was ordained as a Buddhist monk at Wat Rachaworasaram, with Phra Sudhammatheptatera (Keert) as his preceptor and Phra Thammajedee (Jeen) and Phra Bhavana Gosalattera (Rord) as his masters of the precepts

Buddhist Studies and Temple Administration

After his ordination, he moved to Wat Nang Nong to study vipassana meditation and Buddhist texts mainly under Luang Pu Rord, Wat Nang Nong, and followed Luang Pu Rord when he relocated to Wat Kho Noi. After Luang Pu Rord's passing, Luang Pu Eiam was appointed as Abbot of Wat Kho Noi.

Later, in B.E. 2441, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) graciously appointed Luang Pu Eiam to the position of Abbot of Wat Hang Ratchaworawiharn and bestowed upon him the ecclesiastical title "Phra Kru Sila Khun Tharrajarn", and later elevated him to "Phra Bhavana Gosalattera".

Records of Sanctity:
Luang Pu Eiam was a guru monk whom King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) held in the highest reverence and faith. His sacred objects of all kinds, including this saema-form coin, have clear and renowned spiritual records, particularly in the areas of evasion, maintaining status and prosperity, and great merit, becoming one of Thailand's five-category pressed coins that everyone wishes to possess and venerate.
