Description
Amulet image of Lü Dongbin, one of the deities of the Poi Sian tradition or Eight Immortals of Taoism. Created by Ajarn Sanga Kulkop Kiart, founder of Wat Sian, Chonburi Province, a location that gathers art objects and narratives regarding significant Chinese cultural heritage of Thailand. The reverse side features the Hu Mangkron Green Yantra, which is found in amulets of this edition and is the origin of the name in collecting circles: Lü Dongbin Amulet, Hu Mangkron Green Yantra Reverse. In Chinese tradition, Lü Dongbin is revered as a master who practiced and attained immortality as an Immortal, and is one of the deities widely respected among those of Chinese faith. Amulets of this edition are classified as Chinese auspicious objects related to Wat Sian and are creations of Ajarn Sanga, who played an important role in promoting Chinese culture and art in Thailand.
