Description
This Kohn Nam Tao mold coin from B.E. 2505 has distinctive, easy-to-remember characteristics. The mold shape resembles a tao fruit, which is the origin of the name "Kohn Nam Tao" mold. The front of the coin features Luang Pu Tuat sitting on a two-tiered lotus base. This belongs to a group of coins without the two-rope prostrate elephant design at both knees of Luang Pu Tuat. According to evidence from a newspaper distributed at the King Rama IX's golden umbrella and pagoda finial ceremony at Wat Chang Hai, the Royal ceremony was performed on August 29, B.E. 2520, page 22 states that the Luang Pu Tuat coins of the fourth edition were created in B.E. 2505, totaling 20,000 coins.
