Description
Luang Pu Tuat, also known as Luang Pu Tuat Who Walked on Freshwater, is an important Buddhist elder of Southern Thailand. According to legendary accounts, he was born in Songkhla Province during the Ayutthaya period. After his ordination, he studied Buddhist Dharma and traveled to study at various monasteries. A significant legend of his concerns the miraculous event of walking on freshwater during a sea journey. This event led to Luang Pu Tuat's name being revered and remembered throughout history. He was closely connected to the Southern region, particularly Songkhla, Pattani, and Wat Chang Hai. Wat Chang Hai in Pattani subsequently became the important center for the creation of Luang Pu Tuat amulets.
