Phra Prok Bai Makham Powder Thai Amulet, Luang Pho Yod, Wat Kaew Charoen, Samut Songkhram, B.E. 2497
Description
The Phra Prok Bai Makham powder amulet with Cambodian-style design was created in B.E. 2497 by Luang Pho Yod of Wat Kaew Charoen, Samut Songkhram Province. This is one of the earliest amulets of the master with clearly documented creation history. Wat Kaew Charoen is located in Amphoe Amphawa, Samut Songkhram Province, serving as an ancient temple in the Mae Klong River basin with an important role in the local community for a long time. This amulet received spiritual blessings in a ceremony attended by several esteemed monks, including Luang Pu Jai of Wat Sedet, Luang Pho Daeng of Wat Khao Bandai It, and Luang Pho Teh Khong Thong of Wat Sam Ngam, as well as other contemporary venerable teachers—a tradition of Buddhist ordination ceremonies during that period. The Cambodian-style design features a Buddha image seated beneath a crystal spire influenced by ancient Khmer art. The amulet body is crafted from blessed powder according to the powder amulet creation methods popular in the B.E. 2490s.
