Phra Somdej Kanaen Lek from Wat Prasart Bunnyawas, B.E. 2506
Description
This Phra Somdej Kanaen Lek amulet was created in B.E. 2506 by Wat Prasart Bunnyawas in Bangkok. It is among the most popular powder amulets of Wat Prasart, which became well-known for creating sacred objects during the 2500s decade, when renowned master monks from throughout Thailand were invited to perform collective blessings. Wat Prasart Bunnyawas was founded in B.E. 2483 in the Talat Phlu district of Bangkok. Originally built as a place for dharma practice and Buddhist propagation, the temple later produced many amulet editions to generate revenue for temple development. In particular, the B.E. 2506 powder amulet was created by collecting blessed powder and materials from master monks of multiple lineages and performing a solemn Buddhist consecration ceremony.
