Rahu Kala Gaew Amulet by Luang Pho Pin, Wat Srisathorn, Nakhon Pathom
Description
Luang Pho Pin Thitseelo, former abbot of Wat Srisathorn, was a venerable master who played an important role in promoting Rahu worship to widespread recognition. He studied Brahmanical and Buddhist texts related to Rahu, and created many forms of sacred objects, establishing Wat Srisathorn as the center of Rahu devotion in Nakhon Pathom Province. Wat Srisathorn is an ancient temple on the banks of the Nakhon Chai Si River with a history spanning centuries. Originally a temple of the Mon community who migrated and settled in the area. Within the temple stands a large Rahu image that is revered by people from across the country, particularly those who travel to pay respects and participate regularly in Rahu worship ceremonies. Luang Pho Pin's Rahu Kala Gaew amulets are carved from coconut shell, a material traditionally used in creating Rahu devotion amulets since ancient times. Due to the connection between the shape of the coconut shell and the philosophy of Rahu holding the moon, each carved piece has its own unique characteristics.
