Pair of Sarika birds carved from wood amulet by Luang Pho Khen of Wat Tham Khao E-To, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, created in the year B.E. 2509. A protective amulet in the form of a pair of carved wooden Sarika birds with chanting marks and wax seal applied according to the methods of this edition. Luang Pho Khen was a venerable monk of Wat Tham Khao E-To, known in the lineage of amulets and sacred objects of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, particularly for the creation of protective amulets found in the collections of Eastern regional sacred object scholars. Sarika birds are an amulet form found in many Thai venerable monk traditions for a long time. This piece features details of carving, chanting marks, and wax seal affixed to the body of the amulet according to the documentation of the work.
