Description

Fan amulet, Eight Immortals, copper material, commissioned in B.E. 2545 by Luang Pho Ith Patthachar, abbot of Wat Chula Mani, Samut Songkhram, to support the restoration of the temple's buildings and facilities. The amulet was blessed according to Wat Chula Mani's tradition. Wat Chula Mani is an ancient temple on the banks of Khlong Ampawa. It is presumed to have been built in the late Ayutthaya period and is a temple of historical significance in Samut Songkhram Province. Within it are enshrined various sacred objects. The temple is also a place where Thao Wessuwat is widely revered in the present day, though this reputation became more prominent after B.E. 2550. Luang Pho Ith Patthachar (B.E. 2489–2560) was an accomplished Buddhist monk who played an important role in the development of Wat Chula Mani, including the restoration of ancient structures, the propagation of Buddhism, and the creation of auspicious objects in many editions, most of which were intended to generate revenue for the temple's development and public benefit.
