Description

Phra Phong (sacred powder amulet) of Khong Kwan (gift) with yantra backing, created in B.E. 2531 by Luang Pho Phrom of Wat Khon On Nuea in Ayutthaya Province. The amulet was commissioned as a memento for those who participated in and contributed to the temple's development. It is among the powder amulets created during the period when Luang Pho Phrom continued to hold monastic status and actively pursue religious duties. Luang Pho Phrom was the former abbot of Wat Khon On Nuea, a venerated Buddhist scholar and teacher widely respected by Buddhists in Ayutthaya Province. He played an important role in the restoration and renovation of the temple and promoted Buddhist activities. He also commissioned multiple auspicious objects to generate funds for temple development and public benefit. The amulet is crafted from sacred blessed powder. The front features a Buddha image in a simple arched niche, while the reverse bears a yantra, which is the distinctive characteristic of this edition, giving rise to its name "Phra Phong Khong Kwan Luang Pho Phrom—Yantra Backing."
