Phra Phut Suwan Khet Wat Boworniwet B.E. 2517 White Powder Amulet

Description

Wat Boworniwet is a first-class royal temple of the Ratchaworawiharn type, located in Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. Originally established during the reign of King Rama III by Somdet Phra Bowornnrachachao Maha Sakkdi Pholsepha, the Director of the Royal Palace of Boworn Satisfaction. It was built near Wat Rangsi Sudhawat, and both temples later merged into a single monastery. This temple holds great significance in the history of Thai Buddhism, particularly because during the reign of King Rama IV, while still in monastic robes and holding the rank of Vajiranyanphikkhu, His Majesty King Mongkut came to oversee Wat Boworniwet before ascending to the throne. Wat Boworniwet is also considered an important center of the Thammayuttika Nikaya, which has played a major role in the reform of monastic education and practice throughout Thailand.
