Sunday Buddha Amulet, Abhaya Mudra, Powder Material. Created in B.E. 2499 by Wat Sampanthawong, Bangkok, and received the gracious blessing of Khun Mae Boon Ruean Tong Boon Toem through her intention. This is an auspicious object from the latter part of her life and is among the creations that scholars of Khun Mae Boon Ruean's lineage have taken interest in. Khun Mae Boon Ruean Tong Boon Toem (B.E. 2437–2507) was a renowned laywoman known for her practice of Dhamma in the present Buddhist era. She was an important disciple of Luang Pho Man Bhuridatto and is recognized as a devoted lay practitioner dedicated to the development of vipassana meditation practice. Many people traveled to seek her guidance in Dhamma practice and to make merit together with her. The Buddha image is in the Abhaya Mudra pose, which is the Buddha of those born on Sunday. It represents an event after the Enlightenment, when the Buddha stood gazing upon the Bodhi tree with remembrance of the place where He attained Supreme Enlightenment. This pose expresses gratitude.
