Phra Kru Wat Chana Songkhram Powder Amulet - Climbing Vine Mold Black Earth
Description
Phra Kru Wat Chana Songkhram Powder Amulet - Climbing Vine Mold Black Earth is an ancient clay amulet discovered from Wat Chana Songkhram, one of Bangkok's most important royal temples, which has a long history dating back to the late Ayutthaya period. Wat Chana Songkhram was originally named Wat Klang Na and was built during the Ayutthaya period. During the reign of King Rama I (Phra Borommarachathirat Maha Surasing Nahathip), the temple underwent major restoration. After the King's victory over the Burmese army, he bestowed upon it the new name "Wat Chana Songkhram" to commemorate the nation's triumph. Phra Kru Wat Chana Songkhram amulets were discovered during restoration and development of areas within the temple over several periods, comprising both clay-bodied and powder amulets in various molds. The climbing vine mold is a distinctive design featuring an archway pattern encircling the Buddha image, resembling climbing vines extending upward.
