Description
Luang Pho Opassee Coin from Wat Prasart Bunnyawat, B.E. 2506, is one of the auspicious objects in the famous creation set of Wat Prasart Bunnyawat, Bangkok, which is recognized as one of the greatest consecration ceremonies of the B.E. 2500 era. Luang Pho Opassee, or Phra Ajarn Opassee of Bang Mod Ashram, was a revered teacher known for vipassana meditation practice and strict dharma practice. He was deeply respected by many Buddhists during the middle of the 25th Buddhist century, and his disciples continuously traveled to study dharma at Bang Mod Ashram. Wat Prasart Bunnyawat was established in B.E. 2498 by devoted practitioners who wished to create a Buddhist center in Bangkok. It later became an important temple in the Thai amulet community, particularly through the creation of amulets and guru coins in B.E. 2506, which gathered materials and invited renowned venerable monks from throughout the country.
