Pluang Awy amulet by Luang Pu Perm Punyanusono of Wat Klang Bang Kaew, Nakhon Pathom Province, cast in B.E. 2518. This is a distinctive shape amulet that has received considerable popularity among amulet devotees of Wat Klang Bang Kaew. This piece is made of dark copper material, which is the material found in the early period of its casting. Luang Pu Perm was a senior monk who directly inherited the teachings of Wat Klang Bang Kaew. He was a close disciple of Luang Pu Bun Kanthachoti, a revered master who established the fame of Wat Klang Bang Kaew throughout the country, particularly for his formula of Jindamani herbal powder and Buddhist teachings in the Nakhon Chai Si lineage. Over the past century, Wat Klang Bang Kaew has been a gathering place for many important masters, including Luang Pu Bun, Luang Pu Perm, Luang Pu Jua, and many other monks of the Wat Klang Bang Kaew lineage. This has resulted in the temple being recognized as one of the important Buddhist centers of Central Thailand. The Pluang Awy amulet was designed to resemble the shape of a sugarcane joint.
