Thao Maha Brahm Coin B.E. 2529 by Ajarn Thong Thaem — Four-Faced Brahm Amulet
Description
The Thao Maha Brahm Coin was created in B.E. 2529, based on the reverence of Thao Maha Brahm, a deity widely respected throughout Thai and Southeast Asian society as a symbol of compassion, wisdom, and noble virtue. The amulet design portrays the four-faced Thao Maha Brahm according to Hindu-Brahmin tradition, which has been integrated with Buddhist beliefs in Thailand for a long time. This is particularly evident in Bangkok, where several important brahmin shrines and deity temples have been established since the beginning of the 25th Buddhist century. The blessing ceremony was conducted with the grace of Ajarn Thong Thaem, who is recognized in Thai astrology and Brahmin scholarship circles as an expert in ancient Brahmin scriptures, stellar divination, and Brahmin rituals according to traditional texts. He has played an important role in promoting knowledge of Thai culture and traditional beliefs. The title 'Somdet Pramajarn in Brahmin Studies' reflected in this amulet's name honors this expertise.
