Luang Pho Ngern Sip Taksorn Coin, Wat Don Yai Hom, B.E. 2512, Large Imprint
Description
"Sip Taksorn" (Ten Buddhas) traces back to the time when Luang Pho Ngern oversaw the construction of the ordination hall and ancient artifacts from the Dvaravati period were discovered in the Koke Yai Hom area. Among these findings was an ancient mold bearing ten Buddha images cast in a single mold. Luang Pho Ngern adapted this format to create the Sip Taksorn coin, which was distributed to those who contributed labor and support to the temple's construction. This became a distinctive auspicious object of Wat Don Yai Hom that continues to this day. The B.E. 2512 struck coin was produced in multiple sizes: small, medium, and large. The large imprint features a pentagonal shape with a large Sip Taksorn design on the obverse and a yantra on the reverse, inscribed with the year "2512" and the name of Luang Pho Ngern. It is believed that the consecration ceremony was performed on Saturday the 5th, which is why a Saturday the 5th yantra was added to the reverse of the coin.
